Press Conference by Gábor Iványi – 20.09. 2023.
2023-09-21This Sunday’s event will be organised to help HEF (Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship), which is in crisis due to the withdrawal of their state normatives, and will be supported by the presence of several well-known artists and public figures, including Virág Erdős , Rozi Lovas, Ervin Nagy, Győző Szabó, and by others – who cannot be there in person – through video messages.
According to the organisers, “The Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship maintains a number of institutions, including social, educational, health and family support institutions, which help more than 20,000 people. This work, which has been taken over from the state, has been carried out wholeheartedly since the fall of communism, and some important activities were already being carried out before then. Gábor Iványi and his institutions do not receive the state subsidies that they would be entitled to for their various social duties. Most of their employees (nearly a thousand people) have been without a salary for over two months, and 10% of them have already resigned. Let us prevent these vital institutions from being closed down!
We are organising a solidarity event with Gábor Iványi and his staff on 1 October, the 25th birthday of the House of Reconciliation. Please join as many of us as possible to support HEF and the Oltalom Charity Society.”
The event is scheduled to be attended by Virág Erdős, Mariann Falusi, Balázs Galkó, Róza Hodosán, József Kerekes, Kriszta Kováts, Ervin Nagy, Győző Szabó, László Upor, Lili Pankotai and Melinda Zsiga. In addition, Rozi Lovas, among others, will send a video message of support.
